Skate in the rain?

Yes you can! Rain creates better and smoother ice. We are an outdoor attraction operating in winter so you need to think about what you are going to wear. The rink is operable in nearly all weather conditions (barring a blizzard). No refunds will be given out due to undesirable weather. If we decide that skating is not suitable then we will offer alternative sessions. 

How can I book?

You can book online through our website. Once the rink is open, you’ll be able to book in person at our box office on site. We also have a phone line – 07375 401744. This is for booking tickets if you don’t have internet access, for booking groups and parties and all other enquiries. The box office on site will always be manned from 9am - 6pm weekdays. It has already proved busy so if we don’t answer please leave us a nice message with your number and we will be delighted to ring you back. 

Can I change my booking?

Yes this is possible, please do it as early as possible because it needs to be minimum 24 hours before your session starts. Changes must be done on site.  There is a £4 per booking fee to change it. All changes are subject to availability and if changing from off peak to peak, then difference must be paid.

I think I have booked online… what next?

You will receive a confirmation email to the email address you provided. This email will also include an e-ticket as a PDF which you can bring as confirmation either in paper or just on your phone.

Pretty sure I paid but can’t see this email you’re chatting about?

Ok first just check your spam mailbox. Not there? Ok we can sort this easily. Just give us a call on 07375 401744 or email sales@iceskatebournemouth.co.uk, or even better pop in and see us. We can look up your reference number & last name and find your booking for you.

Where is the ice rink?

We’re in the Lower Gardens (between the town centre and the pier).

Who can skate?

Everyone and anyone. There is no minimum age limit. We do ask that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult. We have bobskates available (think of them as stabilisers on a bike but for ice skates) for the little ones. We also have penguin and seal skate aids (£3) that children (or adults) can hire and help them to skate and stand up. Both of these will be limited availability and on a first come first serve basis. We have helmets and wrist guards for hire if you wish and we are wheelchair accessible.

Can I just watch my friends/family/children skate?

Of course! Our café/bar is free to enter. You will find a fantastic selection of delicious food and hot & cold drinks. It doubles-up as a covered viewing area.

When should we arrive for our session?

20 minutes before your session is due to start. We will have loads of people wanting to get their skates on and off so please give yourself enough time. We won’t be able to wait for you!

Do I have to have ice skates?

Your ticket price includes skate hire.  We have a large number of skates in all sizes (children's & adults).

Can I bring my own skates?

You are perfectly welcome to bring your own skates however there is no change to the pricing if you do.

Do you cater for parties and could I even book the entire rink?

Absolutely! Whatever you are celebrating we want to see you on the ice! We have a special discount of 10% off if you have over 10 people attending.  We also have party packages to include food and drink for parties of 10 people or more.

An ‘Ice Skate Bournemouth’ gift voucher is suitable for birthdays, Christmas or even the employee of the week. Buy online or over the phone/email or in person at our box office.

Is the rink wheelchair accessible?

Yes the rink is certainly wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are welcome to book and skate at any public sessions.

What if I can’t skate?

We have ice marshals on the rink at all times to give you some guidance – and help anyone that does fall over.
